CREATIVE WORKS: DESCRIPTION
I Shall die to find life
At the beginning when I listen the second sound I thought that I could use my music knowledge to create a short music piece with a fear as theme, But I decided create a photograph. Can be defined as "ecletic". The technique used in my photograph is varied but the objective is unique. You can see the artist John Baldessari that uses collage of some images, the manipulation of them, inserting texts on them like in the photographs that I show, sometimes in touch with the conceptual art.
THEME. Fear.
My work is a kind of metaphor.
When I lose my glasses, or they break me, something that happens often, I panic because I know that I will be a few days without reading, going to class, working with the computer, teaching the piano, playing the piano, etc.
We are all afraid of something: death, our own or that of a loved one, loneliness, success, failure, love, self or other pain, not meeting expectations, not reaching life goals, time , Illness, no money or work, make irreparable errors, say sorry, I love you, thank you, etc.
Broken glasses only symbolize a small fear. Before that fear you think And now, what do I do?
Stock photo description:
Colors lifeless, sadness, fear, rupture, shock, glasses as a symbol of going blind. The glasses are placed on paper wet in coffee to give it a different texture. As the artist John Baldessari does, I introduce text in the image so that the observer tries to reach a conclusion. No good or bad conclusions are all valid. The image has been manipulated digitally with a pencil filter which gives the image an old and dirty look.and now.png
PROPOSAL FOR A PRIMARY COURSE.
The process to follow is simple.
It would be carried out in a course of 5 or 6 of primary, with a high cognitive development.
Previously the teacher would explain some theoretical concepts that can be of help, influence and inspiration to the students
- Photographic techniques.
- Contemporary artists working photography
- Concept of abstraction
Each student would be asked individually to look for an everyday object in their home. An object that is important to him.
The student would produce 5 photos of the chosen object in different angles.
It would take the one that likes more attending to the perspective, angle, light, etc.
The photograph obtained would be manipulated digitally with some filter to alter its appearance, light, texture. Depending on what each student wants to achieve.
The image would be inserted in a frame or frame with a "non-concrete" text that could give the viewer several options to understand the work.
Finally the student would expose his work, process, in class.
After a brief debate about the meaning of the work, the student would expose the true meaning and object of his creation.
